Free Training and Technical Assistance for Medical Professionals Working with LGBTQ+ Youth in Washtenaw County
Community Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a coalition of community organizations, youth and academic partners offering a free training and technical assistance program to improve the health and well-being of LGBTQ+ youth in Washtenaw County.
CHAI is focused on improving mental health and substance use outcomes among LGBTQ+ youth in Washtenaw County by increasing access to inclusive and affirming health care.
University partners represent various departments and are experts in psychology, social work, psychiatry and LGBTQ+ physical and mental health. Community partners represent Corner Health Center, the Michigan Organization on Adolescent Sexual Health (MOASH), the Neutral Zone, Ozone House, Unified – HIV, Health & Beyond, the Washtenaw County Health Department, the Adolescent Health Initiative (AHI) and the Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools (RAHS).
