DEADLINE EXTENDED TO MAY 30, 2017 at 5 p.m.
Attention to all community-based organizations and health and human service agencies working in Detroit!
If you or a colleague are interested in expanding or enhancing your capacity in Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) to help promote health equity in the Motor City, then we invite you to apply for a scholarship to participate in our week-long summer short course, Methods in Community-Based Participatory Research for Health (EPID 783), from July 17-21, 2017.
Offered by the Detroit Community-Academic Urban Research Center (Detroit URC), the course will provide an introduction to some of the core principles, concepts, and methods involved in using a CBPR approach. It will be taught over the course of five half-days by a team of ten trainers (five university researchers and five Detroit-based partners) at the U-M School of Public Health in Ann Arbor.
This opportunity is only offered once per year, and this year we will be awarding up to five scholarships! So if this interests you, then be sure to apply by May 30, 2017. PLEASE NOTE: This represents an extension from the original application deadline of May 15, 2017.)
Please click here for course details (scroll down to Epid 783) and here for the online application. Also, feel free to forward this message to others you think may be eligible and interested.
