Michigan Community Health Workers Alliance (MiCHWA) is a collaboration of community health workers (CHWs), organizational partners, and other CHW supporters whose mission is to promote and sustain the integration of CHWs into Michigan’s health and human service systems through coordinated changes in policy and workforce development.

Nine community organizations inspired by Detroit Works Project Long Term Planning (DWP LTP) are hosting Detroit Neighborhood Forum: Meet the Candidates; three State Representative candidate forums in July that are focused on improving the quality of life in Detroit. 

Join the project to meet the state representative candidates who are running to represent your community! Candidates will be asked questions about the future of the city in the context of Detroit Works Project Long Term Planning.

The Summer Issue of the Community-Academic Research Network newsletter includes exciting funding opportunities, tools to guide collaborative research efforts, and a video about exciting new businesses popping up in Detroit. We also announce the award of the 2nd round of Detroit URC Small Planning Grants and the recipients of our 2012 CBPR Summer Short Course Scholarships. 

On August 24th-26th join the People's Instituet for Survival and Beyond, one of the foremost anti-racist training and organizing institutions in the nation, for their Undoing Racism in Michigan workshop in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
